Key Macro advantages:
Key Macro is a keyboard shortcut manager for Windows. By assigning a few hotkeys to programs and desktop items, you can execute commands at the push of a key combination.
Key Macro uses the Windows Windows API (WriteWinEvent) to intercept key presses. The hotkeys you assign to your programs will be triggered when you press the assigned key sequence.
Key Macro makes use of a Filter driver, so you can assign any hotkey combination to any application. If you assign the same hotkey to both the same program and a different program, only the first assigned program will get executed. If you assign a different hotkey to a different program, both hotkey sequences will be executed.
Key Macro is not a global keyboard shortcut manager, but only a windows keyboard shortcut manager. You can assign hotkeys to any Window or Window Sink, or any program. But Key Macro is only useful if you have multiple monitors, because it doesn't manage hotkeys for multiple monitors.
Key Macro does not edit the registry and does not install anything. This makes Key Macro portable, user friendly and free of malware.
Key Macro works in all the most recent versions of Windows including Windows Vista.
Key Macro is also free and open source and comes with an active community and forum.
